Jewelry Edition was started by Kat Cole and Laura Wood in 2012 as a new type of opportunity for early career artists to gain national exposure. Through our diverse network we are able to offer many different opportunities to the jewelers selected for JE. Over the last three years JE has exhibited 18 artists and traveled their work to different locations including galleries, conferences, institutions, and public spaces each year.  These artists have gone on to gain national representation and prosper in their individual careers. Volume 4 presents a shift from exclusively emerging artists to exhibiting a more diverse range of makers at varying points of their careers. The collection will feature 4 makers to exhibit with Kat Cole and Laura Wood and will feature a smaller more focused grouping of work by each artist.

Jewelry Edition is a creative project built to promote and celebrate contemporary jewelry nationally.

2018 Exhibition Schedule TBA

Congratulations to Hannah Oatman! Jewelry Edition's 1st award recipient! Jewelry Edition has been diligently preparing for this day. It has been a goal since the inception of JE in 2012 that we take steps to eventually grant awards such as this. We hope that in giving this award it will help to facilitate professional goals and assist in the growth of work. In addition to our financial commitment, this year,  we have teamed up with Marissa Saneholtz and Sara Brown of Smitten Forum to offer a seat at their next gathering. Award Details: Invitation to JE V4 500 cash award Invitation to Smitten Forum 2018 About Smitten Forum: The concept behind Smitten Forum is to create opportunities that will give makers from the metals and jewelry field a place to come together in a creative environment and work side by side in a studio for one week. Each event is organized by Sara Brown and Marissa Saneholtz. Invitees range from emerging to well-established makers as well as educators and professional jewelers. A variety of techniques and mediums are represented, including traditional silversmithing, enameling, computer aided design, found object assemblage, tin construction, welding, powder coating, casting, and many more. By removing the distractions of everyday life and adding the energy of multiple makers, the participants are able to focus on their work. With the influence of those around them, participants can move in creative directions that may not have happened while working alone in their home studios. https://smittenforum.wordpress.com
